Tutorial: Remedy Unlink Problem for TSX Multi-Information Display (MID): Driver Unknown "Customize" Impossible

You may encounter a situation in which you cannot customize the settings on your TSX Multi-Information Display (MID). When you try to do it, the display says "Driver Unknown "Customize" Impossible."  This means your remote keyless entry device has become unlinked...it's not the end of the world, and it's easy to remedy.  Here is how to do it. (You might want to print out these instructions and take the print-out with you to the car.)

If the message above appears on your Multi-Information Display (MID), do the following:

1.  Shut off the car and remove the key.
2. Open the door.
3. Standing outside of the car, press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on your remote device until the red LED light flashes. See picture below:

4. Close the door.
5. Lock the car.
6. Unlock the car.
7. Get in and start it.
8. Hold down the MID button and it should now recognize either Driver 1 or Driver 2. This should work...Congratulate yourself! But, if there is still a problem...
9. Call an Acura Service Center.
