Acura DVD Audio, ELS Surround Sound, & MP3

Unfortunately for it, DVD Audio (DVD-A) appeared on the scene just as the market was becoming less interested in quality and more interested in having an entire music collection in a pocket. Thus, having an MP3-capable vehicle became of more interest than a significant enhancement in sound quality.

Convenience often wins out over quality, and, in today's market, there must be a place for both...as there is in today's new Acuras. All 2007 models are now equipped with MP3 connectors, allowing you to listen to your MP3 playlist through the vehicle's spectacular speaker system.  Acura Music Link is also available as an added accessory.  It allows you to use the standard audio controls in the car to control your iPod.  I will write about Acura Music link in another entry. Many of the new Acuras also have ELS Surround Sound.  ELS Surround Sound was developed by Elliot Scheiner. Elliot's talents have been recognized with 20 Grammy nominations, five of which he took home, two Emmy nominations and three TEC award nominations. His accomplishments in the field of multi-channel recordings have also been acknowledged with numerous awards including the Surround Pioneer Award in December 2002.
