Caution: Beware of Salvaged or Used Airbags

In recent years, the practice of using salvaged or used airbags has increased.  If your car is in an accident, the body shop you take it to may install a salvaged or used airbag, thus cutting down their costs.  Be sure when you discuss the repair of your vehicle that you actually verify that a new Acura airbag has been installed.  The installation and use of salvaged or used air bag system components in an Acura may compromise the intended performance of that vehicle's air bag system as there is no certainty of the history, quality, condition, or compatibility of a salvaged or used air bag system component.
