Acura Navigation On-Screen Spelling Assist

posted Tuesday, 12 June 2007

When speaking the letters or using "spell mode," you can substitute the name that represents each letter or symbol.  This improves recognition. Although I will only list the 26 letters of the alphabet here, on-screen assist includes symbols and numbers as well.  Here is the list of letters:

A = Alpha/Apple
B = Bravo/Boy
C - Charlie
D = Delta/Dog
E = Echo/Edward
F = Foxtrot/Frank
G = Golf/George
H = Hotel/Henry
I = India/Igloo
J = Juliet/John
K = Kilo/King
L = Lima/Larry
M = Mike/Mary
N = November/Nancy
O = Oscar
P = Papa/Paul
Q = Quebec/Queen
R = Romeo/Robert
S = Sierra/Sam
T = Tango/Tom
U = Uniform/Uncle
V = Victor
W = Whiskey/William
X = X-Ray
Y = Yankee/Yellow
Z = Zulu/zebra

When entering a tlf dial string ; for example an answering machine prompt of pause, the system doesn't recognize the prompt or handle it properly .

-Sending the number with prompts by bluetooth returns the error that unrecognized characters were removed. -trying to enter a dial string manually also does not work because the screen only takes the area code + 7 digits

How do you enter dial strings or international telef numbers with country codes etc

Thanks
